All our Physiotherapist have Bachelor of Science Honours Degrees (BSc Hons) and have undertaken extensive postgraduate training in advanced physiotherapy techniques along with many years of hands on treatment experience. All are members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists and of the Health Professional Council.

David Bolwell

Qualifying with BSc Hons in 1998, David has gained extensive experience working within both the NHS and private sector. This experience includes the treatment of elite athletes and professional sports teams whilst working in UWIC and a local private hospital. Prior to establishing his own practice David led a team of forty physiotherapy staff in his role as a Superintendent Physiotherapist.

David is a member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists

Mary Eggins

Mary combines the role as a Senior Physiotherapist with our practice with her role as an extended scope practitioner (ESP) within the Cardiff and Vale NHS. Specialising in spinal conditions, she works closely with Spinal Consultants assesses and triaging patient for conservative rehabilitation, arranging further investigations or surgery. The role requires advance physiotherapy knowledge and skills.

Mary also has vast experience of treating rheumtalogical conditions and hand injuries.

In June ’12, Mary obtained her Master Degree in Musculo- Skeletal Physiotherapy.

Is a member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists

Catherine Hare

Qualifying in 2004, Catherine quickly started to specialise in musclo-skeletal conditions.

Catherine is about to completed her Master’s Degree in Sports and Exercise Medicine and has also worked with the Welsh Netball Team and UWIC rugby squad.

Is a member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists

Emma Kirby

Qualifying in 2006, Emma has gained experience in various physiotherapy specialities in both private settings and as a senior physiotherapist in the NHS. To reinforce this knowledge, Emma has completed a Masters Degree in Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy.

Sarah Gardner

Sarah also combines her role as a senior physiotherapist within our practice with her role as extended scope practitioner (ESP) within the Cardiff and Vale NHS. Working closely with orthopaedic consultants in the Cardiff and Vale Orthopaedic Centre (CAVOC), Sarah specialises and has been the clinical lead in lower limb rehabilitation, conditions and injuries. Her ESP role involves assesses and triaging patient for conservative rehabilitation, arranging further investigations or surgery.

Sarah also assisted in preparing athletes for the Commonwealth Games and is currently completing a Master of Science degree in Advanced Physiotherapy and a Post Graduate Course in Sports and Exercise Rehabilitation, including strengthening and conditioning.

Ellie Neville

Qualifying in 2008, Ellie passion is athletics and has represented GB and England in 200m & 400m’s

Along side working with our practice, Ellie works part time with Cardiff City Academy and has volunteered to provide Sports massage at Cardiff Half Marathons and voluntary Physiotherapy support for the Australian Wheelchair Basketball Team prior to World Wheelchair Basketball Championships. She has also been involved with the UK athletics physiotherapist within sports performance centre of Athletics in Birmingham and Loughborough.

Ellie is also a fully qualified Sports Masseur and qualified in Advanced Kinesio Taping

David Lee

Qualifying in 2009 with a BSc Hons in Physiotherapy, David has been involved in NHS, private and sporting sectors. He completed his core rotations in Aneurin Bevan Health Board before specialising in musculoskeletal physiotherapy in 2013. In 2015, David became a static senior physiotherapist in Cardiff and Vale NHS.

With a previous degree in Sports Science, six years as a gym instructor and a personal interest in sport David’s experience includes working for Bridgend Town FC, South Wales Scorpions Rugby League and five years at Cardiff City Academy.

David is also a qualified sports masseur.

Jack Knight

Sports Therapist/ Masseur

Graduating from the University of Gloucestershire with a BSc Honours degree in Sports Therapy, Jack gained experience working with the International Tongan Rugby union side during the RWC 2015. He has also worked as part of the medical team for several Welsh Premiership rugby sides including Bedwas RFC and Bridgend Ravens RFC as well as Cheltenham Hockey club. He recently has taken up the post of Lead Sports Therapist at Welsh football league team Trethomas Bluebirds.
