Whiplash injuries are another common consequence of car accidents. Whiplash occurs when your head/neck are quickly thrown one way and then the other, and this can very easily happen when your vehicle is hit by another driver.

Safety belts are important because they prevent serious injuries, but your seatbelt may jar your shoulder during an impact.
